GLS cooperates with the IPSL Global Institute at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, USA. The IPSL issues transcripts for GLS German courses, that are recognized by institutions worldwide.
Notify us: Indicate on your enrollment form that you wish to earn university credits, or contact us in advance at german@gls-berlin.de.
1. What courses can I earn credits for?
You can earn credits for all of our German courses, from level A1 to C2.
2. How can I ensure my credits will be accepted by my home university?
As requirements vary by institution, we strongly recommend confirming with your home university in advance. Usually, providing your academic advisor with our course syllabus is sufficient. If you need a copy of the syllabus, please contact us at german@gls-berlin.de.
3. How do I receive a transcript?
Once you have completed your course, we will fill out a record form for you and inform Westminster University of your grade. They will issue the official transcript, and you will receive an email with instructions on how to access it online.
4. How much does it cost to receive an official transcript?
We charge a fee of €450 for issuing the transcript and handling the process. This fee will be invoiced together with your course fees. Additionally, as soon as you order the transcript via Westminster University's online portal, there is a charge of $10 per copy. If you need more than one transcript, you can always order additional copies directly through Westminster University's online portal ($10 per copy).
5. How many credits can I earn?
You can earn 1 semester credit for every 15 lessons (each lasting 45 minutes). You can earn up to 9 credits per course level.
6. What is the attendance policy?
To achieve the best possible grade, you should attend 100% of the classes. The minimum attendance required is 80%.
Through our partnership with Westminster University (Salt Lake City, USA) you can earn official, transferable academic credits while taking your German course at GLS Campus Berlin.
